Race calendar

Racing here runs from May to November. Loto-Québec and the track publish different weekly race days, and this page names no regular weekday from either. Race dates may also change at any time. A look at the calendar shortly before setting out saves a wasted drive.

A visit to the track

Admission and parking at the Hippodrome 3R are free. Wagering is for people 18 or older. Harness racing goes ahead rain or shine, so dress for the weather rather than hoping for a postponement.

The track is fully accessible. It has reserved parking spaces, a shuttle from the parking lot and an elevator up to the seating, grandstands and restaurant. On race days there is fast-food or snack service, plus a self-service buffet restaurant. Next door stands the Salon de jeux de Trois-Rivières, for anyone stretching the afternoon into an evening.

Who runs it, and where it sits

The track’s website is published by the Club Jockey du Québec, a not-for-profit organization incorporated on June 19, 2009. Its aim is to restore Québec’s horse racing industry, including live race programs in Trois-Rivières. Oversight of horse racing in the province sits with the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (RACJ), which also regulates alcohol and games.

In a straight line, the track is 115.7 km from Québec City city hall and 120.7 km from Montréal city hall. Those are map distances, not driving distances.
